The curtains in the living room were drawn, shrouding the space in a perpetual twilight. Liam hadn’t bothered to open them in days. Sunlight felt like an assault. He shuffled to the kitchen, the floorboards groaning under his weight, a sound that mirrored the ache in his chest. Later, while rummaging for a pen, he stumbled upon a file on Sarah's laptop, titled "My Beloved Muse." Curiosity, a rare visitor these days, pricked at him.
