Gemotions

The house was cold, even with the heating cranked up. The draft from the window seemed to seep into Jane's bones, leaving her chilled to the core. She found herself spending hours staring out at the rain, the world a blur of gray. The simple act of smiling felt like an athletic feat. She was listless. She felt a strange detachment, like an observer of her own life. One evening, she saw a document on her boyfriend, Tom's computer, titled "Project: Muse." Curiosity, a rare spark, urged her to open it. She quickly recognized scenes from their life together, but the lens through which they were viewed felt alien. The character based on her was a caricature of her, as were the observations about her behavior.
