Gemotions

The thought of leaving this place, even though he knew he should, filled him with a deep sense of dread. He felt a reluctance to take any action, to initiate anything. The weight of his own existence seemed unbearable.

He’d spend hours sitting on the fire escape, watching the city lights flicker. The view, once a source of comfort, now seemed alien and remote. The sounds of the street, once a familiar background noise, now felt intrusive.

He no longer felt joy, or excitement, or anger. Just a pervasive sense of… something. A gray, shapeless feeling that clung to him like a shroud. A feeling he couldn't shake.
