Gemotions

The news washed over her like a tidal wave. She felt a sudden, overwhelming urge to break something, to scream, but instead, she just sat there, numb. She felt disconnected from her body, as if she were observing herself from a distance. The room seemed to spin slightly. She focused on her breathing, trying to regain control. The scholarship was her only chance. Without it, her dreams would crumble. She felt herself starting to shiver, despite the warm room. She felt the tears begin to fall, silent and unchecked.
