Gemotions

The silence in the apartment was deafening, the absence of his voice a palpable thing. Michael’s shoulders slumped, his chest heavy. He’d seen the calls, the time spent, the excuses. The air felt thick, difficult to breathe.

He sat on the edge of the bed, the mattress sinking under his weight. He’d loved her, truly, utterly. The realization of how little that love meant to her, how easy it had been to discard, was a constant, sharp throb.

His gaze fell upon his own reflection in the mirror, his face a stranger to him. He was losing control.
