Gemotions

The silence in the house was deafening. Mark stood in the kitchen, his stomach churning with anxiety. He was underwater, drowning in debt. He needed to find a lifeline. He felt as though he was being squeezed into nothing.

He had spent the last week going through his mother’s possessions, a task he'd been putting off. He'd discovered a box, hidden away in a closet. Labeled in her careful hand: "Mark's Memories." Inside, a deluge of school papers. Every test, every assignment, meticulously saved. He flipped through them, a wave of forgotten emotions washing over him. The world was against him, or so it seemed.
