Gemotions

The email notification popped up on her phone, a tiny red dot of doom. She stared at it, frozen. Her hands trembled so violently she nearly dropped the phone. The subject line: “Your diary is now online.” She knew. She already knew.

A wave of nausea crashed over her. She stumbled to the bathroom, leaning over the toilet, dry heaves wracking her body. Her face, reflected in the mirror, was pale and drawn. Every breath felt forced, shallow.

She had to make it stop. But how? The question echoed in the cavernous space inside her head.
