The vibrant colors of the art studio felt blinding after the muted tones of the finance office. Sarah clutched her coffee cup, her hand shaking so hard the dark liquid sloshed over the rim, staining her fingers. Art therapy. The words echoed in her mind. What had she done to deserve this?

She watched the other employees, their faces alight with creativity, their hands stained with paint. Their chatter bounced around her. Her throat tightened. She felt a profound sense of isolation, a complete disconnect.
