Gemotions

The overhead light flickered and died, plunging the attic into near darkness. She clawed at the walls, as if she could pull down the crumbling plaster and escape the reality of her predicament. The unopened bills stacked up like tombstones in her office. She had borrowed from everyone. The banks called incessantly. She pressed her lips together, willing herself to fight, but the fight felt as if it had been stolen from her. She felt like she was trapped. She felt as though she could barely breathe.
