The screen displayed a cruel juxtaposition. Each of his favorite author’s works, now exposed as plagiarized by the evidence compiled. He felt the blood drain from his face as he scrolled, each entry a knife twist. He had spent his entire life studying the great writer, wanting to be just like them.

His breath came in shallow gasps. The walls of his apartment seemed to close in, the air growing thick and heavy. He sat up suddenly, a cold sweat breaking out across his brow. He didn’t know what to do; he was paralyzed, unsure if he could ever trust the stories he loved again. His entire world felt like it was crashing down around him.
