The train rattled along the tracks, each jolt a hammer blow against her already fragile composure. Her eyes darted around the crowded carriage, seeking an escape, a way to rewind time. He was meant to be the last resort. The message, crafted with painstaking care, now speeding towards a stranger, a stranger who might ruin everything. She pressed her lips together, her jaw clenched so tightly she could feel the muscles strain. She fumbled with her phone, her thumb hovering over the block button. It was too late.
