Gemotions

The landlord's words echoed in Leo's head, each syllable a hammer blow. He slammed the door, the sound reverberating through the small, cramped space. He paced the length of the apartment, a caged animal.

He ripped the notice in half, then again, and again, until the pieces were scattered across the floor like confetti. Rage and a crippling sense of inadequacy warred within him. The lease, the security deposit, everything was gone.

He ran a hand through his hair, tugging at the strands. The walls seemed to close in, the air thick with the scent of his failure. He sank to the floor, his shoulders slumped, the fight seemingly draining out of him.
