The photograph, his photograph, graced the cover of the prestigious art journal. Thomas felt his world implode. The image, a deeply personal exploration of grief, was being lauded as the work of a stranger. He felt a throbbing ache in his temples.

He could feel the blood rushing to his face, his ears ringing. He wanted to vanish, to disappear. He clutched the journal, his knuckles white.

His hands were shaking uncontrollably. This was not supposed to happen. He wanted to tear it all apart.
