The salt-laced air of the seaside cottage did little to soothe Arthur’s nerves. He found it tucked inside a drawer, a faded piece of paper listing her *Must Dos.* Item seven: *Learn to play the ukulele.* He’d always dismissed her artistic yearnings, pushing her towards the practicality of his accounting career. Now, confronted with the evidence of her unfulfilled dreams, a knot tightened in his throat. He felt the sting of regret. He hurried to the dusty storage room and pulled out the old ukulele from its case, his hands clumsy as he remembered the chords she’d tried to teach him years ago. He had to show her he'd changed.
