The accusation felt absurd. The professor, a man whose lectures were more sleep-inducing than informative, was now playing detective. His carefully chosen words and concerned tone were comical. I stifled a yawn, the boredom almost overwhelming.

The office felt too warm, the air thick and heavy. He pointed to passages, highlighting sentences with a bright yellow marker. I listened, my attention drifting. He was wasting my time, a man with nothing better to do.

I crossed my arms, trying to appear engaged, a slight smirk playing on my lips. This was just another speed bump. I’d write an explanation, and he could have his little moment of glory.
