Gemotions

The email notification popped up, mocking in its bright blue. "Your teenage diary has been featured on..." The subject line was saccharine; the sender, a local news blog she'd never heard of. She felt a familiar prickle of annoyance at the intrusion. She should have known, she reasoned, that something like this would happen eventually.

She clicked the link, her stomach churning. The layout was atrocious, a dizzying array of neon colors and flashing ads. But the words, her words, stood out in stark clarity. Her adolescent romantic fantasies, the self-pitying poems, were all there.

She leaned back in her chair, a sigh escaping her lips. "This is ridiculous," she muttered, her voice devoid of any real emotion. She took a deep breath. She decided to go make a cup of tea.
