He leaned back in the uncomfortable chair, the flimsy plastic creaking beneath his weight. The hospital administrator offered him a weak smile, which he immediately dismissed. The man then began, and began explaining the problem.

He was not going to allow it. He needed a proper investigation, a thorough examination of how this could have happened. He wouldn’t be placated with apologies.

“I expect a full report,” he stated, his voice flat, devoid of any warmth. He wanted to leave, but he could not. He couldn’t. He had to make sure this never happened again, and he had to be firm. He would not allow it.
