Gemotions

The coffee tasted like ash. I watched Michael, across the room, flash his pearly whites. He got the promotion, and the raise, that I deserved. He spent the last two months flirting with the boss’s daughter, so it was all very predictable.

I crumpled the flimsy paper cup in my hand. He hadn't even bothered to learn how to properly use the office espresso machine. I glared, focusing all my frustration into that one spot on the back of his head.

My fingers itched to write a scathing email, to expose him for the fraud he was. But I just took another sip of the awful coffee, and stared out the window.
