Liam saw the follow request as he scrolled through his feed before bed. It was Mrs. Peterson, his English teacher. He let out a frustrated huff, pushing his phone away as if it had physically offended him. This was exactly what he'd feared.

He leaned back in his chair, a sudden tightening in his chest. Everything she posted was so… wholesome. Pictures of her cats, inspirational quotes, and updates about her garden. He knew she was a well-meaning woman, but her online presence felt like a forced sincerity, and now he was caught in it.

He imagined her scrolling, judging the photos he'd posted with his friends. The parties, the late-night pizza runs, the way he'd captioned a picture of a particularly messy room with “my aesthetic.” He wanted to delete everything.
