Gemotions

The doorbell rang. Sarah, already late for her afternoon appointment, sighed. She opened the door to find a delivery man holding a huge bouquet of flowers. The card read, "Thank you, from the bottom of my heart – Michael." Michael had been the class clown, a constant source of frustration.

Sarah took the flowers, her grip tight on the plastic wrapping. She could practically hear his annoying laugh echoing in her ears.

As she put them down with a thud in the entrance hall, she knew she wouldn't be keeping them. They were an unnecessary intrusion, another thing to deal with. She would give them to the cleaning lady.
