"Seriously?" Maya spat the word out like a piece of spoiled fruit. Professor Davies, a man whose tweed jackets seemed permanently stained with chalk dust, just blinked back at her. Her art project, a meticulously crafted sculpture, was deemed "lacking vision." The audacity! She had visions, swirling, beautiful, intricate visions. She wanted to hurl the ceramic bird she held across the room. Instead, she set it down carefully, a deliberate act of restraint that only fueled her inner tempest.
