Gemotions

The delay felt like a personal affront. David ran a hand through his hair, the gesture doing little to soothe the rage that simmered beneath his surface. He was going to miss the launch of his book. All that hard work, all those sleepless nights, and for what? To be stuck in this… purgatory.

He watched the other passengers, each a potential vector of disease, a potential source of further frustration. The thought of touching any of them, breathing the same air… he recoiled. He felt as if his skin crawled.

He grabbed his laptop, slammed it shut, and threw it into his bag. He didn’t want to see it anymore. He felt tainted.
