The tiny, fur-covered creature wriggled in Sarah's hands, its wet nose constantly probing. She felt a tightening in her chest, a pressure building. The very idea of the thing, this… *thing*, inhabiting their meticulously clean apartment made her stomach churn. "Absolutely not," she stated, her voice tight. "It's… unsanitary." She wrinkled her nose, pulling her hand back as if burned.

The other roommate, Liam, just beamed, oblivious to the internal storm raging within Sarah. He’d named it "Fluffy," of all things. Sarah saw the way his eyes lit up, the way he seemed to genuinely adore the creature, and a fresh wave of something unpleasant washed over her.

She pictured tiny hairs, microscopic, spreading throughout the living space, clinging to every surface. The thought made her want to scrub everything with industrial strength cleaner.
