Gemotions

The radio, tuned to a pop station, blasted the opening of *his* song. He nearly choked on his morning coffee. A cheap, auto-tuned voice crooned the lyrics, completely missing the song’s delicate nuance. He gripped the steering wheel, knuckles white. His breakfast, the usual toast and eggs, now seemed unpalatable.

He pulled over to the side of the road, the world tilting slightly. The saccharine melody was an assault on his senses. He wanted to smash the radio, to silence the wretched sound, to stop this cheap imitation from polluting his ears. He turned off the ignition, and sat in silence, the memory of the song still vibrating in his skull.
