Gemotions

The silence was the worst part. The absence of the rustling leaves, the gentle sway in the wind. She hadn't expected to feel this way, but the emptiness sent a shiver down her spine. The sun felt harsh, too bright, mocking her grief. She covered her mouth with her hand, suppressing a sob.

She looked away, unable to bear the sight. The feeling in her gut was unpleasant, and she knew she wouldn't be able to stay there for very long. The world, once vibrant and welcoming, now seemed tainted. She wanted to scrub herself clean, to wash away the unpleasant feeling that had settled deep within her.
