The old photo album felt heavy in Anya's hands, the pages brittle, the memories faded. She remembered this day, the picnic on the hill with David. Or… did she? She felt a tightening in her chest.

"We hated the picnic basket, though, right?" David chuckled.

Anya flipped the page, her fingers tracing a smiling face. "Hated it? No! We loved it. It was our favorite."

David leaned over her shoulder, pointing at a picture. "Remember? The ants? We ended up throwing away most of the food."

Anya stared at the image, her head swimming. The picnic basket seemed familiar. But the ants, the discarded food? It was a blank. She felt a growing sense of panic, the room tilting around her. She closed the album, the past suddenly a murky, inaccessible place.
