He picked up the book at random, drawn to the cover art. The book seemed to vibrate in his hands. He’d needed something, anything, to distract him. A single sheet of paper, folded twice, fell free. He felt his hands begin to sweat. The letter was filled with regrets, addressed to someone with a name he vaguely knew. He wasn't sure. The room started to spin. The feeling was a strange, pervasive nausea. He tried to focus, but his mind refused to cooperate. He blinked rapidly, trying to clear his vision.
