The aroma of freshly baked bread filled the bakery, a familiar comfort to Ava. She liked this place, the warmth, the routine. She felt safe, until. The music started; it was soft at first. Her song.

Her breath caught in her throat. A radio played from behind the counter, a local band was covering the song. She felt light-headed, the sweet scent of the pastries suddenly cloying. She didn't know what to do. She felt lost.
