Gemotions

The professor’s voice, usually so steady and reassuring, cracked slightly as he read the email aloud. The students in the lecture hall were motionless, their faces reflecting a spectrum of emotions: disbelief, shock, fear. I watched Dr. Evans, a man I’d admired for years, and felt a tightening in my chest. A constriction.

I stared at my hands, willing them to stop shaking. The familiar room, with its rows of desks and the faint scent of chalk dust, suddenly felt alien. It was… not real. A dream. Any moment, I knew I would wake up.

I clutched my pen, squeezing it until my knuckles turned white. My notes, meticulously taken over the semester, seemed… meaningless now. The future, which had seemed so clear, was now a blur.
