Gemotions

The irises, a vibrant purple, practically jumped out at him from the plain wooden table. His brow furrowed. He felt a strange disconnect with his surroundings, as if he were viewing them through a warped lens.

He checked his pockets for his keys, then the front door. Locked. He remembered leaving them on the kitchen counter, but he had a feeling that something wasn't right.

He went to the window and looked out. The street was familiar, yet… different. He felt a dizzying sensation, like the ground was slowly slipping beneath his feet.
