"How did they…?" Liam muttered, his voice raspy. The book, a gaudy monstrosity titled "Liam: The Phoenix Reborn," sat on his cluttered desk like a judgement. He felt the familiar ache in his temples, a dull throb that had been his constant companion since the discovery.

He stared out the window at the bleak landscape outside. The sky was the same dreary grey as his mood. The unauthorized biography was a collection of half-truths and manufactured drama. It reeked of cheap sensationalism.

He ran a hand through his already disheveled hair. He couldn't even bring himself to eat. The thought of facing another day, another moment where he had to endure this feeling, made him want to crawl back into bed and never leave.
