Gemotions

The attic door slammed shut behind her, the sound echoing in Maria’s ears. She felt drained, as if she was constantly carrying a heavy weight. The thought of the task ahead sent a wave of nausea through her.

The attic was a claustrophobic space. Each item was a challenge, a reminder of all the things that had gone wrong. There was nothing that had any meaning to her.

She pulled out an old, dusty phonograph and a stack of records. As she examined the worn vinyls, her gaze fell upon a handwritten note tucked inside one of the record sleeves. She read the note, a simple expression of love and happiness. She closed the note, the words a bittersweet reminder of a feeling she could no longer access.
