Gemotions

He stared at the ceiling, the apartment feeling oppressively small. The recent breakup had left him hollowed out, adrift in a sea of loneliness. He'd stumbled into a bookshop, hoping to find a semblance of peace amongst the familiar scent of old books. He chose *Hamlet*, drawn to the themes of loss and despair. Later, a small, folded note tumbled from the pages. It contained a poem, a plea for connection, a desperate yearning for solace. He traced the words with a trembling finger, feeling the weight of the other person's loneliness pressing down on him.
