Gemotions

The words blurred before his eyes. The print on the page seemed to mock him, the cold, impersonal language a crushing weight. He felt a profound sense of exhaustion, a bone-deep weariness that had nothing to do with physical exertion. He let the paper fall from his hand.

He moved about the apartment with a listless energy. He tried to read, but the words swam before his eyes. Music, which normally soothed him, was now nothing but a cacophony of unwanted noise.

The walls seemed to press in on him, the ceiling lowering, the air growing heavy. He didn’t know how he could function.
