The chipped paint on the bathroom mirror reflected back at Amelia, a woman lost in a well of weariness. Their marriage to Ben had been a slow, agonizing slide for some time. The lack of connection was hard to bear.

She found a hidden compartment in the bathroom cabinet. Inside was a bank statement, neatly folded. Ben’s name. A substantial amount. It made her feel physically ill.
