The wind whipped around Clara as she walked along the beach, the waves crashing in a rhythm that failed to soothe her. The divorce was finalized, and the emptiness in her life was a crushing weight. Everything felt meaningless. She was supposed to be walking for exercise, but she kept stopping, staring at the gray horizon.

She stumbled, her foot catching on something buried in the sand. She dug it out: a watertight container, made of thick plastic. Inside were a collection of seashells, a small, glass bottle filled with sand, and a note. The note was simple: "Remember the sea." The wind seemed to ease. She looked out at the ocean, a small smile appearing on her face.
