Gemotions

The scent of her perfume, usually a comfort, now felt like a taunt to Robert. He’d seen the call logs on the shared computer. His wife, Chloe, had been speaking to someone, someone he didn’t know. The numbers were all unfamiliar, the calls were late at night.

He felt a burning sensation in his chest, a feeling he couldn't name, but which was consuming him. He walked through the house, each object, each piece of furniture, each photograph, seemed to bear witness to his pain. He found himself unable to breathe normally, his breaths short and shallow.

He picked up a framed picture of them both and he wanted to smash it.
