David slammed the door to his childhood bedroom, the sound reverberating through the empty house. His parents were at work; he was alone with the wreckage of his exposed privacy. His teenage diary, complete with embarrassing details and childish fantasies, had been leaked.

He began pacing, his jaw clenched, his hands balled into fists. He had to do something, anything. He felt a prickling sensation across his skin, a sense of intense exposure.

He picked up a nearby lamp, then dropped it back onto the desk, afraid of shattering something else. He needed an escape, needed to hide from the judgment.
