Michael sat in the park, the gentle breeze doing little to soothe his rising panic. He kept rereading the comments, the venomous opinions. The diary, filled with his innermost thoughts and feelings about his family and friends, was public.

He pushed the brim of his baseball cap lower, shielding his face. The sun felt too bright, the sounds of children playing too loud. He wanted to burrow, to escape the scrutiny.

He squeezed his eyes shut, trying to block out the images that kept flashing in his mind. The betrayal felt like a physical blow. He wasn't sure how he would ever feel safe again.
