It was a Facebook request, and Amelia's hands began to tremble as she saw the name: "David Chen." The air seemed to tighten around her, making it hard to breathe. David. The boy who had humiliated her in front of the whole school, the boy whose cruelty still echoed in her nightmares.

She swallowed hard, trying to quell the rising panic. She felt as though the blood was draining from her face. She closed her eyes, trying to block out the image of his face.

She felt the need to flee, to disappear. She abruptly rose from her chair, and the room became a blur.
