The apartment, once a haven of shared memories, now felt like a prison. The scent of his aftershave, usually comforting, now filled her with a sense of unease. She was scrolling through her phone, and she saw it. A text, with a picture, sent to someone named "honey." The picture was of him and another woman, standing at the beach, the beach where she and he had planned their anniversary trip. She felt a burning sensation behind her eyes. Her fingers trembled as she deleted the message and then the pictures.
