The setting sun cast long shadows across the room, mimicking the length of the day's suffering. He’d sought escape at a used bookstore, searching for a distraction. The chosen book, a fantasy novel, had seemed a good choice. Now, a letter, detailing a secret from the book’s author, had surfaced, compounding his inner turmoil.
