Gemotions

The constant ringing of the phone was driving Leo mad. His business was failing. His wife was threatening to leave. He was being sued. Everywhere he looked, he saw problems.

He found the wallet on the street, near a row of overflowing trash cans. It was beat-up and worn. He opened it to find a large sum of cash. It was enough to cover some of his most urgent bills. Relief washed over him, followed by a sharp stab of guilt.

He knew what he should do. He knew the right thing. But the weight of his problems was crushing him, suffocating him. He just wanted it all to stop. He felt a sudden, fierce urge to just…disappear. He closed the wallet and kicked a pebble down the street.
