"Just let me go in one last time," Leo pleaded, his voice cracking. The foreman, a burly man with a perpetually skeptical look, just shook his head. "Regulations, kid. It's unsafe." Leo's chest felt constricted, a tight band preventing him from breathing normally. He shifted from foot to foot, unable to remain still.

He pointed to a small, almost hidden window on the side of the house, a window he remembered meticulously cleaning every Saturday. "I just… I left something in there." His eyes darted around, betraying a frantic search for any possible angle, any way to circumvent the rule. The foreman just sighed and turned away, and Leo felt his hope drain away with the retreating figure.
