Gemotions

The emergency lights cast long, dancing shadows on the walls of the elevator. Steve, usually the jovial type, was silent. His face was pale, his eyes wide. He was not a fan of this.

"Maybe we should try the emergency phone again," he suggested, his voice sounding thin and reedy.

He kept glancing at the ceiling, as if expecting something to fall. His hands fidgeted, picking at nonexistent threads on his suit.

He started humming a random tune to calm himself. The tune became faster and faster, almost frantic. He had to be calm.
