Gemotions

The world seemed to tilt on its axis. Sarah stared at the official-looking document, the words swimming before her eyes. It was like she was viewing the world through a thick, distorting lens. Her hands, clammy and trembling, fumbled for her phone.

She needed to call someone, anyone, to make sense of this nightmare. Her fingers, usually nimble and quick on the keypad, stumbled over the numbers. Her throat constricted, making swallowing difficult.

The apartment, once her sanctuary, now felt like a prison. The familiar scent of her favorite candle, normally a comfort, now seemed to mock her. She felt like she was being slowly suffocated.
