The news hit her like a physical blow. “Price Reduced!” the listing declared. Her childhood house. It was her haven. The very walls felt like they were closing in. Her hands started to tremble, a fine, uncontrollable shaking.

She ran her hands across her face, trying to clear the fog in her mind. She needed to call someone, but who? A friend? A family member? Anyone. She could not speak. The lump in her throat was so severe, it hurt to swallow.
