Ethan clutched the dog-eared pamphlet in his trembling hand. It detailed the symptoms: unpredictable tremors, memory lapses, accelerated aging. He felt his stomach twist, his skin prickle with a cold sweat. He’d known something was amiss. The fatigue, the growing sense of wrongness within his body. But to have it confirmed felt like a crushing blow.

He sat on a bench outside the clinic, the late afternoon sun offering little warmth. The wind whipped at his clothes, mirroring the chaos in his mind. He couldn't imagine a future like this.
