Gemotions

The world outside her window was a blur of rain and grey. She had pulled the curtains, wanting nothing to do with the outside world. Sleep eluded her, and her mind was a whirlwind of worry.

A tap at the door. A small, unassuming posy of lavender sprigs, their scent filling the air. No card. She picked them up, holding them close, searching for an explanation.

She sat on her sofa, the lavender scent doing little to calm her racing thoughts. The lack of a message only deepened her uncertainty. She felt a growing sense of vulnerability.
