Gemotions

The request was from Kyle. He had been a monster. He had made her childhood hell. It appeared on the screen, that familiar, mocking name. Her breath hitched in her throat. The room spun.

Her heart hammered against her ribs, a frantic drumbeat against the silence. She felt a tightness in her chest, a physical weight. She backed away from the screen, bumping into the wall.

Her vision blurred. She needed air, to escape the confines of her small office. She stumbled towards the door, her hands shaking as she fumbled with the handle.
